yes contract has been signed, delivered and sealed. I start work on Wednesday. And I am excited and scared at the same time, I am afraid that I wont be able to find anybody to “click” with, any lunch buddies, that I would suck at work or that I fail to meet my own expectations. But I am sure that lord is on my side and watching over me so I shall be brave The HR girl who talked to me about my contract is so cute and pretty; I really enjoyed talking to her and its too bad that we are working in different buildings. Such a nice person

On the downside, the boy is going off to Tioman tomorrow and so I wont be seeing him till Monday. You will be missed! I had a horrid run today and am feeling really fat and sluggish. I think I really need to go on a diet. SIGH. Why cant I be gifted with a high metabolism rate. Scientists, designer genes please!

had a lovely day yesterday! Went to town with my boy and dear friends for a great dinner and some shopping. Was reading the bible on the way to town and I had this feeling that a call I was waiting for would arrive and what do you know, the next thing I knew my phone rang! Thank you lord! The offer was better than i expected and I am going down to sign the contract tomorrow I am so happy; bought a whole new makeup kit as well! LML right now, everything seems to be falling in place and i feel really satisfied right here right now, a feeling that I have never had for so long. Thank you lord once again for your faith in me and guiding me through everything. I love you!

I am so proud of myself!

had an awesome run, ran 5km nonstop at 42 mins. The sense of achievement; the euphoria. Now I hope to run the 5km Yellow Ribbon run in Sept in 40 mins. Wish me luck!

The boy is back!

from the army!! and i have one blissful week with him before his orientation camp on the 31st.

Things im grateful for today:

- Had a enjoyable day at Sungei rd and Flea fly flo with my sister and cousin. Nothing like family bonding

- Bought a top (still figuring how to wear it) and a bucket bag for $12!

- Ate steamboat for dinner (happiness, i love steamboat)

- Quality time with the boy

Answered Prayers

God never fails to answer my prayers, I think that if one is sincere he will surely hear you and help you. Last night I prayed to get an offer from a company I went for an interview yesterday and today I got an offer So thank you Lord for always being there for me and guiding me all the way.

The untouchables

Reading The World Is Flat by Thomas Friedman really inspiredme to start a learning diary. I am someone who gets tired after writing on paper for too long so hey, why not start a learning blog! A personal blog where I can jot down anything that strikes my fancy.

So one of my favorite chapters in The World is Flat would be The Untouchables. Being in the process of finding a job, this chapter really struck me hard because competition is so tough and this chapter really taught me how to improve myself as a job-hunter and hopefully inspire me onto a journey of lifelong learning.

So Friedman lists down a few ‘Untouchables’ : People who will be wanted cos of what they possess.

1. Great collaborators and Orchestrators – People who can help execute ideas.

2. Great Synthesizers – The integration of different specializations

3. Great Explainers – People who can see the complexity but explain it with simplicity

4. Great leveragers – Knowing everything from start to end and ability to leverage technology

5. Great Adapters – Versatilist. Capable of constantly adapting and constantly learning and growing.

6. The Green People – Those in the green industry

7. Passionate Personalizers – Those who personally deliever services

8. Math Lovers

9. Great Localizers – Understand emerging global infrastructure and adapt to local needs.

I have decided to pick 3 of the above which I can possibly achieve and work towards. The ones that appeal to me the most would be The Great Adapters,Great Explainers and Great Localizer. Wish me luck!

Fortune Favors The Prepared Mind -Louis Pasteur

All my life, I have always been seeking for luck and reading this quote really got me to understand that I can actually create luck. By always being constantly prepared; it sounds so simple but how many times do we blame our lack of luck when it was actually do to something we could have prevented in the first place. This quote jumped out to me when reading ‘The World Is Flat’ by Thoms Friedman, a fascinating book and I shall remember this for life.
